Division of Vocational Rehabilitation - State of Colorado

On-the-job training with DVR.

On-the-Job Training is an agreement between Colorado DVR and an employer to hire and train a DVR job seeker. In return for hiring and training a DVR job seeker, the employer receives a wage reimbursement on paid wages to the trainee. This service helps the employer by reducing the expense of training a new employee. It also allows the employer to take the necessary time to train an employee in their own processes and procedures. On-the-Job Training helps DVR job seekers by allowing them to learn a new job on-the-job and then upon successfully completing the training, be hired by the employer. During the training period, the DVR job seeker is covered under the State of Colorado for workers’ compensation. All an employer has to do is sign an OJT Agreement and complete some paperwork to become a DVR vendor. It’s easy.
